HJA bring you this stunning LHD 1999 BMW M Coupe just in from Japan, these have now gone onto achieve cult/classic status and are highly collectable worldwide. This one in particular was imported officially by BMW Japan, meaning it was sold as a brand new car for the Japanese market and has only one owner from new.

A massive advantage of buying these sorts of cars from Japan is the condition of them. LHD sports cars are seen as prestigious to own in Japan so are not often driven and mostly just pampered most of their lives.

Our specialist team hand picks the highest quality vehicles available throughout the globe. So when they came across this they immediately informed us this is one to get! In spite of all the top end dealers in Japan trying to get hold of the car, we were fortunate enough to be able to secure and bring it over to the U.K.

First impressions the bodywork is in superb condition with original paint. Garaged all of its life and constantly pampered it really has been cherished by its 1 owner in Japan. It has all the original panels and being a Grade 4.5 it has no repair history, it’s rare to find an original straight example such as this. The paintwork has a nice gloss and reflects like a mirror the exterior is finished off with the beautiful forged lightweight Volk Racing CE28 alloy wheels sitting at a perfect ride height thanks to the adjustable ST suspension.

As you would expect from a M Coupe of this standard it drives beautifully the iconic S50 engine pulls boisterously throughout the rev range without any hesitation; Gearbox changes are nice and fluent. There are no knocks or rattles from the suspension this really is a joy to drive.

The ride has also improved over the standard M coupe thanks to the adjustable ST suspension giving you a much more responsive set up for the track yet still retaining the comfort required for road driving.

History of the M Coupe
Arriving two years prior to the millennium, the M Coupe was exactly what the doctor ordered for BMW. What they conceptualised was a Motorsport division mash-up; packaged into a pocket-sized, angry hot-rod. The 317bhp, straight-six motor was pulled from the E36 M3 Evolution and lowered into a Z3 M shell, stiffened and canned with a new fixed roof.

This being the first generation, referred to by its engine codename - S50 - left the factory devoid of any driver aids.

The M Coupe will continue to appreciate with so few made. Prices are yet to reach the point of ridiculousness just yet, but this may be the final chance to get behind the wheel of a M Coupe.
