HJA bring you another spectacular import just in from Japan this super rare Le Mans Edition Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R. There were several limited editions of the BCNR33 produced by NISMO (Nissan's Motorsport division). The first, the LM version, was released in May 1996 to celebrate Nissan's participation in the 24-hours of Le Mans. Nissan released just 98 of this model to the Japanese market.

The only body colour available for the R33 LM was Champion Blue (BT2). The car had a hood-splitter lip to direct air to the upper front aperture, the "GT-R Skyline" logo under the chequered flag was placed on the C-pillars amongst other additions.

Nissan entered two R33 GT-R cars in the 1995 Le Mans 24 hour race where the number 22 car finished tenth overall. This was remarkable considering it was essentially running the same RB26 motor and going up against supercars of that era like the mighty Mclaren F1 GTR.

It is becoming increasingly rare to find good examples such as this. We have a team in Japan who are constantly scouting for only top end GTR’s for our stock, we check literally hundreds a month and only pick a handful that meet our standards.

Very clean bodywork has an amazing gloss to the paintwork, in stunning condition very rare to see a beautiful example like this. It benefits from a number of exterior aftermarket parts most noticeable the highly sought after Volk Racing TE37’s which not only set the car of aesthetically but also light weight forged alloys which will add to the performance and safety of the car.

It’s not just exceptionally clean on top, underneath is also rust free and doesn’t have the usual jacking damage on the seals. Another point to note is just how clean it is under the rear arches, spare wheel and strut tops, those that are familiar with R33’s will know these are usually problem areas for so many.

Performance
The iconic Rb26 Engine pulls hard throughout the rev range without any hesitation, thanks to the HKS GTSS Twin Turbo’s the car has some real grunt top end and are a massive improvement over the stock turbos. Gearbox is nice and fluent with no crunches, suspension is firm yet comfortable for road use.

The GT-R Brand is now extremely sought after worldwide, and is considered the next big thing in the burgeoning classic and performance car market.

Sourcing limited edition examples like this is like finding a needle in a hay stack especially in this condition. Overall if you are after a cherished example to enjoy yourself, to be part of a collection or as a great investment look no further.
